Who We Are
Explore the foundational beliefs of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and how they shape our community and faith journey.
Our Core Beliefs
God is love. That is not just an idea. It is a reality embodied in the man, Jesus. It is still being embodied and lived through our Lord’s body of disciples. We struggle to live up to that goal of loving all people fully, and so we are in constant need of forgiveness, mercy, and renewal. For that reason, we are people who assemble weekly at what we call the Divine Service, where our Lord serves his gifts to us. In this way, God’s love enters our world and begins to heal our own brokenness, as well as points us to a greater hope to come through his defeat of death itself.
We believe that Jesus Christ is Lord. He became flesh for the sake of mankind and continues to become incarnate for us. He manifests his presence amongst us in the Divine Service, where we gather to encounter our Lord with all of his abundant love and tender mercies. Through this encounter, we begin to be changed into the people we were created and redeemed to be, so that by extending Jesus’ love, others might also be transformed by the Gospel.
